Born in Geneva, Sarah Matousek stands out for a highly varied solo repertoire as a light lyric soprano, ranging from opera to chamber music and oratorio. In recent years, it is her particular affinity for the Baroque and Classical repertoire that has most shaped her artistic path.<\/p>\n
In the 2025\/2026 season<\/strong>, Sarah will perform the operatic role of Teofane<\/strong> (Ottone<\/em>, Handel) with the Op\u00e9ra de l\u2019Imp\u00e9ratrice<\/strong> in Payerne. She will also appear as The Cat<\/strong> (Les Dinosaures et l\u2019Arche<\/em>, Leininger) at the Cit\u00e9 Bleue<\/strong> in Geneva, under the baton of Leonardo Garc\u00eda Alarc\u00f3n<\/strong>. In opera<\/strong>, Sarah has collaborated with the Geneva Camerata<\/strong> (cond. David Greilsammer), performing multiple roles in a young audience adaptation of Rameau\u2019s Plat\u00e9e<\/em><\/strong>. In 2022, she performed at the Op\u00e9ra de Lausanne<\/strong> in a series of recitals for young audiences. She also portrayed Morgana<\/strong> (Alcina<\/em>, Handel) at the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg<\/strong> (cond. Attilio Cremonesi); sang as a soloist in Castor&&Pollux<\/strong><\/em> (a new creation based on Rameau) at the Heidelberger Fr\u00fchling Musikfestival<\/strong>; and performed the roles of Belinda<\/strong> (Dido & Aeneas<\/em>, Purcell) and Amore<\/strong> (L\u2019incoronazione di Poppea<\/em>, Monteverdi) with Ensemble OrQuesta<\/strong> in London.<\/p>\n In recent concert appearances, Sarah has performed as a soloist in J. S. Bach\u2019s Mass in B minor<\/em><\/strong> (Ensemble Buissonnier), Mondonville\u2019s In exitu Israel<\/em><\/strong> (Le Motet), and Palmieri\u2019s Misatango<\/em><\/strong> (Arte Musica Choir). In 2024, she was also a soloist in Haydn\u2019s Nelson Mass<\/em><\/strong> (HEM Geneva) and J. S. Bach\u2019s St. John Passion<\/em><\/strong>, conducted by Ton Koopman<\/strong>. Other notable engagements include solo parts in J. S. Bach\u2019s St. Matthew Passion<\/em><\/strong> at the Dartington Festival<\/strong> (UK), in Handel\u2019s Messiah<\/strong><\/em> at Lausanne Cathedral<\/strong>, and in the Christmas Oratorio<\/strong><\/em> by Bach under the baton of Masaaki Suzuki<\/strong>.<\/p>\n As an ensemble singer, Sarah has performed with the Namur Chamber Choir<\/strong>, notably under the baton of Leonardo Garc\u00eda Alarc\u00f3n<\/strong>. For several seasons, she has collaborated regularly with various Swiss ensembles, including the Chorus of the Op\u00e9ra de Lausanne<\/strong>, the Chorus of the Grand Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de Gen\u00e8ve<\/strong>, the Vocal Ensemble of Lausanne<\/strong>, the Acad\u00e9mie Vocale de Suisse romande<\/strong>, Ensemble Diaphane<\/strong>, Ensemble Chiome d\u2019Oro<\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\n After earning a Bachelor\u2019s and a Master\u2019s degree in performance at the Haute \u00c9cole de Musique de Lausanne<\/strong> (class of Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Gindraux), Sarah pursued further training in London<\/strong> with various teachers. She will also be soloist\u00a0in Schubert\u2019s Mass in G<\/em><\/strong> and Vivaldi\u2019s Dixit Dominus<\/em><\/strong> with the Arte Musica Choir<\/strong>. She will also collaborate with various ensembles from French-speaking Switzerland, including La Fontana Cantabile<\/strong>, Diaphane<\/strong>, and others. In addition, Sarah will return to the Grand Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de Gen\u00e8ve (La Plage)<\/strong> for various outreach and education projects.<\/p>\n
